This Understanding

No intento que lo entiendas porque no es lo que busco. Hoy sólo buscaba contarte algo sobre mí, algo que seguramente ya sabes, pero con una canción que nunca has escuchado. Y lo puedo afirmar así porque para haber escuchado esta canción tendrías que haber estado en ese concierto, o tener el VHS oficial, o haber profundizado en la web de mis pequeños.

Supongo que a estas alturas ya conoces la historia. Mis 12 años y el arañazo en el oído de Better Day, y Marchin' Already sentada al lado de la minicadena temblando, y cómo todo cambió. El vídeo oficial 'Live at Stirling Castle' lo compré en el 2000 en Santiago (mira tú), en la primera edición del Santirock a la que fui nerviosa y emocionada a ver por segunda vez a Ocean Colour Scene. No puedes ni imaginar la de veces que vi esa cinta, y es posible que no sepas que cada vez que había un concierto de ellos en el que yo debía estar y no estaba, llevaba a cabo un ritual.

A las 10 la tele tenía que ser mía. Ponía el vídeo y sufría y disfrutaba a partes iguales.
Esta canción no la grabaron nunca porque no fueron capaces de que les quedase bien.
Es tan especial para mí que me siento asquerosamente vacía y triste cada vez que la escucho. Hacía años que no la encontraba, y ahora no sé cómo ir a dormir.
